In 1998, the SHERATON Nanjing Kingsley Hotel & Towers was the first batch of international five-star hotels in Jiangsu, shining in Jinling. 25 years later, STYLUS STUDIO combined the historic and cultural temperament of Nanjing with the vitality of modern youth, creating a space that reflect the old city walls’ masculinity and the youthful spirit of the new era. This has given a renewed upgrade to the Sheraton hotel, one of the globally recognized hotel brands under the Marriott International Group.

The central lobby features a rounded copper dragon plate, boldly combined with stone flooring and the original dark marble and metal frame, responding to the toughness and traces of the old city walls, symbolizing the cycle of history and rebirth. The selection and layout of modern furniture represent the lifestyle of the new youth, relaxed and full of energy. The designer presents the “plaza” design element of the new Sheraton in the lobby lounge area, allowing people to find their place and settle their emotions in this story-filled space.
The inspiration for the reception area comes from the prosperity and elegance of the ancient capital of Jinling, with the designer creating a space that is both aged and modern. The tall decorative surface, like the skeleton of a folding fan, combines the virtual and the real, simple and orderly, contrasting with the surrounding clean lines and warm-toned wooden walls.
The space details reveal the delicate oriental aesthetics, with the wall’s hidden patterns and the ink paintings on the folding fan echoing each other, and the floor pattern resembling the light silk of the folding fan. The overall design integrates tradition and modernity, creating an experience of traveling through the long corridor of ancient and modern times.
In the all-day restaurant, which blends modern and retro styles, time seems to be frozen by the intricate layout and details. Black and white mosaic floor tiles create echoes of history, while the interweaving of metal and wood tells the tale of trendy craftsmanship. Clean lines, bright and warm lighting, and the simple decorations on the walls whisper the purest respect for food. Every corner is filled with stories, waiting to be tasted and savored.
Under the brilliant lights, the night of the city is engulfed by the warm atmosphere of the Jinshili Sheraton Hotel. The light blue glass chandeliers, like twinkling stars in the night sky, illuminate every corner of the space. The emerald-green seats, clean lines, and soft lighting create a gathering place that is both modern and nostalgic.
The guest rooms showcase the traditional craftsmanship of Nanjing – gold foil, incorporating its modern interpretation into the context of the space. The golden-yellow headboard of the bed reflects the distant view of the city skyline. The artwork is chosen in an abstract flowing form, subtly combining the beauty of gold foil cracks, reinterpreting the classic charm with a modern touch. The black metal lines and stone texture of the bathroom echo the delicacy and texture of the gold foil. Every detail in the soft furnishings interprets a magnificent dream that transcends time and space.
